The music reproduction of our new 18 Signature Horn loudspeaker is characterized by a lively lightness and intense emotionality that makes you forget all sense of time.Our 18 Signature sounds completely homogeneous, like a point source, and offers a new dimension of clarity and resolution from 300 Hz to 20 kHz. Our new coaxial drivers were developed specifically for this application to achieve a completely new level of listening experience.
The horn unit
Our 20 inch horn for the 18 Signature is a very special and exclusive development to meet our requirements. During the design process we excluded various materials such as plastic or wood from the outset for reasons of sound, we were left with a precisely defined construction. The horn is made of a special aluminium alloy and is drawn and shaped by hand from a single piece. The material thickness is also precisely defined as the horn only rests against the enclosure at one point for resonance reasons.
The Coaxial compression driver
As you can see from our speaker specifications, we use in our top model 18 Signature a very large Coaxial compression drivers of 4.2 inch for MF and for HF 2.3 inch. The required specification for these coaxial drivers is extremely high, as frequency response and resonance require special attention. This ensures both driver diaphragms work in harmony over a wide bandwidth of 300Hz to 20KHz. Using these unique, exceptional drivers results in a very special reproduction of the music.
The bass woofer
Our new low frequency woofers are produced and optimized specifically for our bass horn. Features include a pure paper cone of only 120 grams for our 18 inch woofer in our 18 Signature. The 18 Signature has approx. 98db efficiency, dual damping control, 4-inch inside/outside copper voice coil, and a super strong magnet from 28.5 BL force. Our 18 Signature is designed to compliment many amplifiers, and also maximises performance of typical low power amplifiers such as the 2A3 or 300b based designs.
The bass horn woofer is sensitive enough to reproduce any style of music, regardless of volume and with minimal compression listening to music that sweeps you away and touches you emotionally while offering a live musical experience between your own four walls and makes you addicted for more.
The cabinet design
It has long been known that a horn provides the most efficient transfer of acoustic energy to the air. It is also known that a properly designed horn type loudspeaker exhibits lower distortion, greater linearity, and more natural sounding reproduction than other types of loudspeaker systems. Bass Horns are also able to reproduce the dynamics of any given program material with stunning realism and minimum effort. Our specially designed bass horn utilises 5 different types of wood and has the incredible ability to deliver the tiniest dynamic changes and transparency completely independent of music style and volume. This speaker is able to recreate the emotions which are usually only experienced during live music events.
